Statement
What Gerhard Richter said about his paintings, that „they are smarter than I am“, is very much coherent with the way I feel about my work. Every piece I make is a material manifestation of a thought process, which has taken place beyond the level of my verbal consciousness. It induces a need within me to find a form, a material output for it. Only after I have completed an object, the artwork starts to unfold its contained knowledge to me over time. I then learn something new, which at the same time was something I had known long before, a deeper truth. Essentially, this deeper truth is what I am seeking to find in-, and express with my art.
